BURGER HOUSE BBQ SAUCE

Image
barbecue sauce
–noun
a piquant sauce often containing vinegar, tomatoes, sugar, and spices, used esp. for basting in barbecuing meat.

I'm introducing MEATLOAF in my next blog. My friend found out and decided to contribute his family's BBQ sauce recipe.

"It ain't manly if it ain't got BBQ Sauce."

I'll take his word for it. Enjoy the Burger House BBQ Sauce.

Prep time: 2 minutes
Cook time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

2x bottles (36 oz.) of Ketchup
3/4 Cup of Worcestershire Sauce
1 lb. / 1 package of Brown Sugar
5 teaspoons of Dried Minced Onion
3 teaspoons of Dried Parsley

Directions:

Pour all contents in a pot
Stir well/ MIX
Cook to a Boil
Cover, turn low and simmer for 1 hour (STIR OFTEN)
Let cool

Tip: An easy way of storing your BBQ SAUCE
Let sauce cool
Make a cone out of a magazine. Use it as a funnel
Pour BBQ Sauce back into the Ketchup bottles.

Lemon Pepper Chicken & Steamed Broccoli and Asparagus

You must understand that in my world, "healthy" translates to unappetizing, rabbit food. It has the same connotations as being set up on a date with someone who "has a great personality." They're both phrases that send up warning flags.

In this instance however, I was wrong. The dish is healthy, it was quick to make, very affordable.... AND DELICIOUS.

I paired it with a nice bottle of Bud Light that accentuated the flavor of the Lemon Pepper Chicken.
