... a new trend has taken over generation Z, mainstream America. We, who were previously inept in the kitchen have decided to take on the task of learning to cook and blog about it. We're desperate for fresh, affordable adventures in our financially meager economic status. The kitchen seems an alien enough terrain to journey and conquer.

New ways of embarrassing ourselves to the public in well hidden anonymity has become the new high of the millenium. I'm definitely not above it and am eagerly joining.

I am a bachelor with little culinary skills, undaunted by the new task I've laid out in front of me. I will attempt to release a new recipe every week with easy instructions to share with my friends and blog buddies.
Is this courage or madness? It doesn't matter as long as I get fed.

My sole intentions in the kitchen is to be able to make something quickly, affordably and delicious.

Here starts my contribution to other bachelors surviving on Top Ramen and take out. Here I attempt to experience and share the Tao to easy, cheap, appetizing food.

Yield: 4 generous servings Prep Time: 20 minutes Cook Time: 20 minutes Cheesy Turkey Baked Pasta Ingredients: 1 tablespoon olive oil 1 medium onion, chopped 2 large garlic cloves, minced 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes 3/4 pound ground turkey (10% fat) 4 cups cooked whole wheat pasta shells (see *Tips below) 2 1/2 cups marinara sauce (bottled or homemade) 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley 1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese (divided) 1/4 cup grated fresh Parmesan cheese Directions: Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. EZ Chinese Chicken Teriyaki

Ingredients: 1.5- 2 lbs (6-10 pieces) Chicken fillet (thighs or breasts) 1/3 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 tsp pepper Directions: Preheat oven to 450 Combine into Bowl: 1/3 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup brown sugar 1 tsp pepper mix well Grease Oven Safe Glass Pan Tenderize the meat using a fork or mallet. Individually, dunk each piece of tenderized chicken into bowl and massage the sauce into the meat After the chicken has been drenched in the teriyaki sauce, lay the meat into the glass pan (do not overlap the chicken pieces on top of each other) Cook in oven from 40-50 minutes until the middle of chicken is cooked (no pink show when you cut into the chicken) Take out of Oven and enjoy

Chinese Curry: ABC Tang Style

4 tbsp. vegetable oil 4 cloves garlic, crushed 3 med. onions, sliced lengthwise 2 lg. chicken breasts, boned and cut in 2 inch pieces 1 tsp. chili powder 1 tsp. black pepper 1 tbsp. curry powder 2 tbsp. sugar 7 tbsp. brown sugar 2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ginger powder 2 tbsp. soy sauce 1 c. water 3/4 c. coconut milk 3 med. potatoes, cubed (optional) 1 med (1 lbs) eggplant 2 tbsp. butter mixed with 2 tbsp. flour (Thickener) Heat 2 tablespoons oil in heavy pot over high heat, about 30 seconds.  Add garlic; fry until brown.  Add onions; stir fry 3 minutes.  Add curry powder.  Remove onions and set aside.Heat remaining oil in pot. Add chicken  Stir fry 3 minutes. Add sugar, brown sugar, chili powder, ginger, black pepper, salt, soy sauce and water. Mix in potatoes (optional: add chopped eggplant) Bring mixture to a boil.
